Values Voters, Plus Some Notes and Updates
"On
another note Astrology Mundo has a nice post on "Pluto in Virgo for
President." The poster does a good job of pointing out the core values
of the Pluto in Virgo generation, namely jobs, affordable health care,
healthy food, and clean air. The Pluto in Virgo generation (born in the
1960s and late 1950s) is now at mid-life, and I've personally always associated
this generation with the need to do something serious and transformational
about the environment. Virgo is an earth sign, and it is also a sign that
as far as I can tell puts more emphasis on purity and health than any
other sign. To me that means Virgo wants to do things like clean up pollution

The
Astrology of Menopause and Peri-menopause
Since
I specialize primarily in working with women who are in midlife, I naturally
talk to women who are dealing with various aspects of menopause and peri-menopause.
I had never really looked into the astrology of menopause-related symptoms
until recently (when I went through a bunch myself). Now that I have,

opposition Pluto is a midlife transit that occurs when people are in their
mid-50s, at least for this generation. Pluto's orbit is irregular so when
Neptune will move into opposition with it varies from generation to generation.

a Midlife Transition
I
recently read that Al Gore describes himself as a "recovering politician."
After a political career that spanned 24 years, Al Gore has remade himself
as a spokesperson for the importance of addressing climate change issues,
as evidenced in the movie An Inconvenient Truth. He's put politics behind
him (he says) and devoted himself to something that's always been a part
of his makeup--love of the earth. At the age of 58, Al Gore is a prime
public example of a significant midlife transition. more...

Turning
50: Crisis or Empowerment?
Astrology
posits the existence of a number of predictable mid-life crises. Some
that I can think of off the top of my head are transiting Uranus in opposition
to natal Uranus and transiting Neptune square natal Neptune at around
the age of 42. Transiting Uranus in opposition to natal Pluto is another
biggie that hits in the mid-forties. These mid-life crises are well-documented
and quite real; most people I've met have been affected by them whether
they pay any attention to astrology or not. Then there's the Chiron return
